At the occasion of Flor's 18th. Birthday she and her husband, Gerard, invited all of VDM over at their Quinta to celebrate the fact.
It was very easily explained how to get there. The location is between Penina and Portimao, not far from the Alvor exit on the 125. And to make sure no one could miss it, it was agreed all cars would be counted at the nearest church and follow the leader through the winding roads. Robert made the mistake to let Jim Orr drive, which meant we arrived at the church after all cars had left.... no phone, no directions, but when emergency is highest we discovered that Andrea had the mobile number of David... The merry go round did work, and all, in the end, ended up at Quinta Flor de Liz.
We all want to thank Flor and Gerard for a superb afternoon. We all enjoyed looking at the landmarks around their hill-top. We now have seen how to make wine. We all know how easily it drinks and we all know how well it smoothes the 'indonesian'-style sateh; lamb-chops; nasi goreng bbq, with a desert topped with whipped cream (watch Dave's nose on one of the pictures below!)
And... Read the sign... It says that one bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all books in the world! So, stop reading, and...
